Grove Park in Asheville

Monday, August 26 – We wanted to stay at the historic Grove Park Inn (built in 1913), but unfortunately it was completely booked for a convention.  Sandy’s been here before, and she knew I’d love it because it’s built and furnished in the Arts & Crafts style.  (I’m a big fan of Stickley furniture).  The Grove Park is also renowned for their Spa, which Sandy has also been a patron of.

As a consolation for not being able to get a hotel reservation, we did score a front-row table on their Sunset Patio for dinner, so we were able to watch the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains.  A perfect way to cap off our last night in the area.
