Fun stuff in Roanoke

Sunday, August 25 - Just some random fun things around town...

A building sign for the Norfolk & Western Railway

The N&W train schedule.  Back in the day, Sandy could have taken The Pocohantas home to Cincinnati, the western most point on the N&W.

If you like black and white photography, you need to check out O.Winston Link's images of the
N&W railroad.

In the historic registration lobby of the Hotel Roanoke, the mural above the elevators and registration desk depicts Virginia's history, including Pocahontas' marriage to John Smith.

Get ready for Bacon Fest this weekend!

Musical crosswalk near Roanoke's Music Hall.

Retro signs downtown.

Sandy loved the train with coal bins rolling through town!
