Friday, August 23 - We didn't get to the park until mid-afternoon, but that ended up being very well timed, because it had rained most of the earlier part of the day. This is our first full-fledged national park since Road Trip 2010, so we were very glad to be back. The weather seemed to change by the moment, but the fog and clouds made for some very dramatic scenery!

Have you two read A Walk In the Woods by Bill Bryson? It is one of my all time favorite books! He hikes the Appalachian Trail through your region. You have to get it!
